I'm currently a PhD candidate at Drew University, working at the intersection of theology & philosophy. My own research, on "the creaturely", is located at the nexus of concerns related to religion, gender, animal studies, and ecology. While none of this has anything, directly, to do with technology, I've been thinking a lot about technology in relation to my pedagogy. I've had the opportunity to teach several online courses, as an adjunct instructor. This, combined with recent debates over the role of digital education (MOOCs) in the future of academic life, has been driving me to think more about about how digital learning can contribute to (rather than detract from) democratic education.
