A few years ago I attended an NWSA conference in Atlanta. The energy, positivity and sharing were refreshing and amazing. I'd like to contribute to & experience that sort of sharing in the THATcamp model. In 1996 I founded (& still administer) the Gifts of Speech website, the 1st (and still the largest) archive of speeches by women on the internet.
One of the projects I'm working on is using archival photos to produce short video biographies of women who were influential at the women's college where I work. I'm also writing biographical entries for these women in Wikipedia. In this way I'm participating in the FemBot Collective's push to "Write Women into Wikipedia." I'm also a co-moderator on the Wikipedia GenderGap mailing list.
I am the digital collections specialist, cataloger and archivist at my library. I administer digital projects, manage the archives and do cataloging. Who's Who of American Women included me in 2008. Maybe they heard I once had to breakup a dog fight in the Reference room of my library?
