I am doctoral candidate through VCU in the Media, Art and Text interdisciplinary PhD program as well as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Media Studies and Production at Temple University. I teach video production, directing and producing, as well as media history and survey courses. I approach my pedagogy as an "Executive Producer" on a production team, rather than hierarchically or within the traditional framework of Instructor and Student. I encourage my students to approach their media productions in ways that combine history and theory into complex nonfiction or fiction narratives, unbound by genre. I love documentary and nonfiction media in all modes. My geek passion is pinball.
